Bushcraft and Survival
We offer courses Bushcraft & Survival and Wilderness Camping for individuals, families and groups. Our courses are based on our own experiences, knowledge and preferences, which are from the simple "life in nature".
A century ago People lived in a way closely connected to nature and were adapted to their conditions. In today’s modern society, many of the knowledge and skills of our ancestors have been forgotten. We help you to experience the original way of life and make contact with nature in an informative and interesting way.
Courses can be tailored to the needs of families and experienced naturalists and take place amidst the beautiful scenery of real wilderness and rich wildlife. It is important to know that our courses are always conducted under controlled conditions, and we never expose ourselves to actual survival situations. We always have the necessary equipment with us, and if necessary, there is always an easy exit.
Examples of possible contents of our Bushcraft & Survival course
- Since most survival situations can be avoided by good planning, the course is training on how to prepare to avoid survival situations.
- What equipment should be taken when going out into the forest?
- What are the dangers of getting lost, for example, what should you do and what are the priorities?
- The orientation and art of reading cards with the compass as well as by incorporating certain natural phenomena.
- Fire is a natural and important part of staying in the wild. How do you make a fire – regardless of place and season? In certain situations, such as when you’ve gotten wet and the temperature is low, it’s vital to get warm and dry quickly to avoid hypothermia. How do I light a fire without dry wood?
Fire is of course also used for cooking or water disinfection and is usually the heart of a camp. - Water is the source of all life, and without it you cannot survive for long. We go all available
Options to avoid dehydration and will teach you the appropriate warnings. - Cooking outdoors over fire is not such a witch. We show different possibilities (grill, Dutch oven, on a hot stone) how and what you can prepare everything.
In the summer and autumn seasons, the accommodation will usually be a tent/tarpaulin/tipi or a shelter that we build ourselves. During the winter season we have the opportunity to sleep in a simple wilderness hut. We can also build other, simple and natural shelters and constructions to facilitate our stay in the wild. In winter we have to keep an eye on the current snow conditions and the temperature, whether the course can be carried out without danger.
Fishing and collecting berries are of course also part of our Bushcraft & Survival course. The ability to catch your own food is an important point. However, we will always bring a certain amount of food, depending on the situation and circumstances.
In the courses we will rather stay in a fixed base camp.
However, the time and individual work we invest in each of the categories can also be adjusted according to their abilities and interests.
